Laser rangefinder modules for sport optics and handheld OEM

Golf, hunting and field optics: 905 nm, 5–1,500 m, small enough to fit inside a monocular, and cost-sensitive at volume.

What the category needs

Sub-30 g, 905 nm, a display-friendly output, and an accuracy figure that holds at 400 m. The published specs in this family range from 9 m to 1,500 m at 90 % reflectance, with ±0.2 to ±1 m accuracy and 3–200 Hz rates.

Volume and cost

This is the one product category where unit price dominates the conversation. Quote on annual volume, not sample quantity, and expect the optics (not the module) to be the cost driver in a handheld.

Eye safety in a consumer product

Class 1 at the eyepiece is the requirement, and it is the assembled product that is classified. If the design puts the transmit path near the viewing axis, get the assessment done early — retrofitting a diffuser after tooling is expensive.

Shortlist is a starting point, not a recommendation — the right module depends on target, visibility and pointing error. Filter the full matrix.
